Can you believe it's the October Full Hunters Moon already? It certainly doesn't feel like it with high temperatures in the mid 80s all the way up to northern New York! Weird huh? So yeah, the Hunters Moon will become full at 11:47 P.M. EST on October 6th.

This also is a special moon as it will be the first of three supermoons this year. You can expect it to be about 14% larger and 30% brighter. Another name for this moon is the Harvest Moon and in olden times this full moon helped farmers and ranchers to stay out later and get more work done. Hunters as well, but in increasingly more jurisdictions it has become illegal to hunt past dusk. It is then called "poaching".

As for me, things are still pretty slow. I haven't been many places really except a couple side trips and fall festivals. Yesterday I went to a huge railroad and locomotive festival and was on a train ride through the appalachians. I might post in the train thread. The leaves are only now starting to change.
