Probably because the model 6, being a submachine gun would jump around a lot more if chambered in 45, due to more recoil and a greater bolt mass than if chambered in the other cartridges.

Hello /v/, first time poster here, my 21st D-day is coming up and I want my license to carry and conceal. I have my eyes on a snazzy Glock 21 chambered in the .45 but I only have experience in the lighter 9 mm round, so, I need to know, is the extra recoil very noticeable? I am a pretty big guy and can usually handle myself but is there a hugely noticeable difference in kick?

Yes, the recoil is greater.
However it's not bad, certainly way more manageable than the G20 (10mm)
The G21 is a bit heavier and larger in the hand than a G17 or 19.

.45 has a couple things going for it when used in a G21.
First the standard mag is 13 rounds. So plenty of capacity.
Second the recoil had a little less "snap" than some other rounds like 40SW or 357 sig.
Lastly, the .45 cartridge is subsonic, so if you had to fire it indoors to defend yourself, you're less likely to get permanent hearing problems from it.

I skipped over the concealed carry aspect of the question.

As some other anons mentioned, maybe a smaller pistol for concealed carry would be better.

Although .45 is a great cartridge, if you're going to be hauling a pistol around with you everywhere, you'll soon be looking for something a little smaller and lighter than a G21.

There's a reason that G19's are so popular. The size/weight is pretty good for most people.

well hello there! im thinking of buying a gun in dos weekos (handgun) this will be my first handgun and was looking for some suggestions/ answers to a few questions i have.
A.) what are your suggestions for a first gun. im about 150lbs and 5'9 (in b4 manlet. also im trying to spend less than 500 bucks (is it worth it to get a gun for that cheap)
B.) how impractical is it to buy a revolver (that what i want and also how dumb is it to buy something larger than a 9mm i.e .38 or .40 (i am buying this for home/self defense as well as because its fun as fuck to shoot things in my back yard.)
c.) i will be buying this in my homestate (but not where i live currently) my home has almost no gun laws so i can walk in and walk out with whatever semi auto i want as long as i am over 18.. which i am. with this in mind whats the deal with guns going over state lines (i know i can look thsi up but while i have you...) ill be buying it in vermont and then heading back to ny. i do eventually plan on getting a license to conceal and carry.

Just a side note. A Hard copy of the book in the UK will get you an instance two years extra jail time (if not more). If you are every busted or the police get search you home for a criminal offence. Which in the UK is growing at an alarming rate.

There is a PDF called '24-hour AK-47', but the down-side of that, is that near as i can tell, you are going to Still, STILL, Need to have a very significant amount of tools (powered, fiddly, specialised, and otherwise) and workshop space, before trying to jank around with making an AK of any sort.

Sadly, this board doesn't seem to like PDF uploads, sooo .... yeah, i can't apparently drop the actual 'Make an AK-47' PDF here for your general convenience, but all other things considered, i suspect that said PDF can be easily found elsewhere, and presuming that it has not been AI-scrubbed from the entire internet.
