Anyone wanna talk engines? This is DAZA, quite an amazing little inline 5.

Very similar to 07k (kind of an iron block version, in millions of passats, Jettas etc)

I wanna mount this longitudinally into something fun like e46 or s15 (or GT86 but unlikely) maybe some other options.

Also considering VR6, but although it's even shorter, it's heavy iron and billet block would probably cost an arm and a leg. But with billet you could probably easily make 2khp for drag. I'm more interested in track/drift though, so different build, but yeah, it's an amazing tiny little engine, that is extremely strong with stock block, but a bit heavier.

I don't know much about engines but my wife has a jetta with the inline 5 and it made it to 400k miles with no issue. I hit a deer one morning and with a bone dry radiator the thing still managed to go another fifty plus miles with just the smell of hot metal. Insurance totaled it out but the shop slapped a new radiator in and their main mechanic, an old friend, said it still had plenty of life left.
Very rugged motor, plenty of scootin power for what it was too.

Yeah bro, that's what I'm talking about, those iron blocks you can actually push into the 700hp and if you really really wanted probably even one k range (although of course you'd be probably wiser to switch to daza at that point, just the drivetrain alone will cost you thousands anyway), with different internals. It's a magic little engine.

You can research how strong is your gearbox and The rest of the drivetrain and actually tune that thing, slap on the cheapest turbo you can find, injectors, a tune from the internet for that turbo and you have yourself a sleeper that is honestly, in my opinion, probably the cheapest high horsepower sleeper you can even think of. Passats and Jettas, this build is supported in the aftermarket, but it's totally slept on by fucking everyone. There's no catch, people just didn't recognize this engine up until.. I mean they're swapping it into 944 Porsches, plenty of other swaps into BMWs etc but it's like a little European JZ (that's dirt cheap) with the one cylinder lost (sounds fucking cool as fuck) And they cost like a few hundred, because there's a million billion of them, you can push that thing to 400 horsepower easily with stock internals and just swap them all day long, instead of spending a fortune. It's basically a 500 euro engine that you can quite easily push to 400 horsepower with a few external components which you can swap onto the next engine once you kill this one which is not going to be even easy to do, probably would require 500hp plus. So, yeah, build a drift car and abuse the shit out of it (not sure about 500hp, but might last some even at that, not so much most any normal gearbox tho) with huge boost amd general insanity and then buy a new one for $500, slap on your aftermarket shit and continue abusing the fuck out of it. Well, of course if you raise the temperature too much you're fuck but you know what I'm saying.

07k

Not to mention it's smolll

You can put it into just about anything, the mounting point fabrication would be the problem, but there are kits you can find for certain cars, so just buy a dead one with nice chassis, buy the kit, build the engine (easy mode) put everything in, probably aftermarket ECU, you have yourself the cheapest, one of the coolest sounding 400hp + swap that you don't even have to worry about while abusing it, because it won't cost you anything other than labor to replace it. Well of course everything stacks up especially with clutches, gearboxes that are hardy enough (although some shells may have it stock, maybe some BMWs) and off you fucking go terrorizing the streets.

AMG? probably one of the newer ones. I don't like cars past like 2009. Except maybe AMG GT (older chassis) and w212 E63 which are both V8.

Also this is a poorfag thread, get the fuck attahere with your lambos, ferraris and paganis.

Best sounding engine will forever be NA era Renault F1 V10

yes!
>probably one of the newer ones
no, merc has discontinued V12s in merc line, they moved them to maybach, which is their upper more luxurious brand, sucks
>AMG GT (older chassis)
that's pretty dope, I'm going to look it up a bit
>Also this is a poorfag thread, get the fuck attahere with your lambos, ferraris and paganis.
fair enough, I'm a poorfag myself too
>Renault F1 V10
indeed that sounds good as hell
>AMG GT (older chassis)
if there's no V12 its a turn off for me, I also want it to be 6L+

on the poorfag department, I love this one piece of autism, pic related, renault 5 turbo, iirc, there was even a competition version which had more juice in it, alas the street version was hella cool as well at the very least to look at

Ha, yeah, pretty damn dope

I don't know how you were going to afford buying let alone maintaining bi turbo V12s. Also I have a feeling, most of them would be either superbuck cars or fucking heavy and I don't like heavy cars, because you cannot take a corner in them. And it's just less fun overall. Like for real. I understand luxury and wheeling around, but sometimes you want to do stupid shit. I'm not a great driver, but who doesn't like fooling around. Driving a massive slab feels like you cannot control it. I don't care if it's Maybach or what. A small nimble car is where it's at. I know I said I like w212, but that's an outlier. Mostly I like JDM and mostly small light cars. But I'm eurofag so realistically my best shells are E30 E36 and E46. Not to mention the JDM tax which nowadays is just wild. I would still take a S15, mk4 Supra or R33 GTR though, it's kind of worth it. But other than S15 for which I imagine a pretty straightforward build, the other two I'm afraid would be way too expensive of projects for me, because I would go way overboard and build like 1.5-2khp monsters which means custom everything, pretty much the entire car from the ground up. Not to mention it would take so much time, so until I'm at least a millionaire I'm not touching those. But a nice E46 or S15, damn that would be damn fun.

Imagine dying or being irreparably crippled every time you make a mistake or some asshole around you makes a mistake.

Nah, I get it, bikes are fun, but unless you're dumb or super skilled (which may actually give you a false sense of safety) You're just not going to want to push it nearly as much. Ride on the edge and the limit of grip etc. I'd do it, but only on roads devoid of cars and race tracks designed for that. Unless you're loaded, the only real option is the first one for me. But I don't know, it's just the whole getting crippled thing that I don't like. Too many people due to their fault or somebody else's crashes into a car or get hit by a car, I don't like that. And again, if you go off the road, on a car you may just total the car or just some do some minor damage, whereas with a motorcycle you are likely very fucked every time you go off the road.

Ninja and busa engines are amazing though

I agree it is the primary way that a poor man can just fucking fly and the acceleration.. crazy fun, but cars are fun too. And you do not necessarily need a fortune to enjoy 500+ hp in a light chassis, absolutely not.

Ultimately, biological healthy limbs and stuff like that is more valuable than saving some cash riding a bike versus driving a car. To each their own of course. I love bikes. But I'm more into downhill cycling or ebiking or maybe some motocross bulshitting around in a place designed for that, which shouldn't be too dangerous if you're just fucking around and don't do too much air.

probably never will, but never say never d:^D
>
I get your point, when I think about V12s I think about sport coupes though, I don't like heavy cars either, a sedan I like, but that's not where I want power and speed (I want it there too but you get my point) alas, as you said, nothing to worry about because I'm not after a car atm realistically. Love the bmws you posted, did you know there's V12s? I didn't know until relatively recently.

If I ever get a car, is probs going to be a family car, and ideally one that can do decent offroading at that, but even that concept is awkward, because how do you take that one on daily conmutes? retarded. anyways, fuck cars, in the dream world I can have any car I want ;_;

Yeah, I vaguely remember that e31 had a V12 option. However it also had a V8 option and I would rather go with that, because they had one of the best engines BMW ever made and honestly probably the only BMW engine I'd realistically be ever interested in (besides their modern I6 which is basically a better, modern, better flowing 2JZ except also full of electronics and shit, so a nightmare probably to work with let alone outside of it's native chassis), because you can make BIG power with that V8 and it's old enough to be able to work on it and tune it, basically up until the modern era it was the best engine they ever made and arguably in many ways still is.

Besides those I mentioned I'm also very interested in e31 and e39 but those are a bit heavier cars. I'd love to have e39 for example, but with the huge engine bay I'd rather do something stupid with it like crate V10 for mega bucks and then, yeah, just not a project I have the money for. and would be heavy anyway, so who cares, gotta make something fun for starters.

I do have one car volvo S60 T5 with a volvo inline 5 that with the current exaust, intercooler, pump, turbo and injectors can make north of 400hp, but that project is a dead end other than to enjoy it for what it is and leave pretty much as is... So would be great to build something lighter, something closer to 700-800 hp and something RWD for gods sake, not that FWD ain't fun, but I'm always itching since I sold 2002 lexus IS200, very nice handling car, but was totally stock. Even those are getting some of the JDM tax nowadays, things are so stupid in this world.

Just waiting for the good, the bad or the ugly
AI utopia, AI dystopia or ww3 kek
nah, but we gotta be proactive, i'm not total doomer, just kinda joking i guess

forgot to mention the name of the BMW V8, it's M60B40 (not M62B44 version, that had thinner cylinder walls, bad for real power, because bored out to 4.4L and worse head and worse cylinder liners too and I think more problems I don't remember, t'was an evolution in the wrong direction)

Also dude, forget the naysayers, get a car, fuck everyone honestly, don't be amoral, but make some cash, enslave some niggers if needed and get some motors, life is short.

Complete tear down and break down of the differences between the two. Nobody is going to watch except me, but I'll still leave it here. Interesting video, timely too.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FJUqbSkGBuc

Nobody's going to listen to me, but it's seriously one of if not the best engine for a light car making insane horsepower. K24, 2JZ and RB24, RB30 had their moment already..
This is (in some cases much) lighter, smaller (than of them except maybe k24), better flowing and ultimately the power ceiling is even higher in many ways.

You saw the golf build, they intend 1000hp with the 07k..

Tldr, as expected DAZA is much more capable at the limit and better flowing (I think people have even pushed it to close to 2K hp) But at around 20 times the price (10k) and much lower availability, well.. they're very similar engines and you're getting most of the benefits with the 07k at a fraction of a cost, better spend that money on upgrading internals and you have yourself an absolute beast of an engine.

Manifold for DAZA in the pics
