My husband got a bagel for me this morning. Then my coworker's wife brought me another bagel a few hours later. I ate two everything bagels today.

Jalapenos? John, you have made my mind expand. Why have I not thought of this? I love lox bagels, and spicy food. Habaneros would probably work perfectly with the dish as well, though they are a bit too sweet maybe. Adding pickled jalapenos and capers would balance out the sweetness. Now I don't know how I should stop. I want to try it with avacado and black garlic too. I should try vegemite, because I am convinced it would also be exactly what I would want on a lox bagel but I don't have any basis on why.

John, today I went to a bagel shop and bought a lox with jalapenos and it was great. However, they were actually out of bagels, so gave me ciabatta rolls instead. And it was great, I like it better than bagels.

sometimes i will buy ciabatta buns or baguette and a block of medium cheddar cheese and take bites out of both of them together for a snack
